For all that councils do, we realize that something is missing-- recognition on a broad scale. So we are proud to announce that we have created a Diversity Council Honors Award to honor the outstanding contributions and achievements of those volunteer employees like you, who are carrying the banner and moving the diversity and inclusion process forward within the organization.

We know that the success you achieve in your companies comes at the expense of many challenges; but because of the passion that you have for this work, you never quit; you work through the challenges. So in 2009 we will begin what will become an annual recognition of the contributions of councils, by presenting a Diversity Council Honors Award to the Top 25 Company Diversity Councils at the Linkage Summit on Leading Diversity.

Some things you should know:

• We use the term council as a general term, because groups that lead the diversity process in organizations have a variety of names
• We’re beginning with US councils
• Not Executive Steering Committees, but those operational councils that execute achievement of goals that may come from a Steering Committee or Executive Council
• The award may go to the Company Council; or to a specific council within a company that represents a specific business line or business
• All submissions need to be received by January 16, 2009.
• We will be working with an esteemed group of diversity leaders to evaluate application information and select Award Recipients
• Membership with the Association of Diversity Councils is NOT a requirement. There is no charge to submit your council.
