For all that councils do, we realize that something is missing-- recognition on a broad scale. So we are proud to announce that we have created a Diversity Council Honors Award to honor the outstanding contributions and achievements of those volunteer employees like you, who are carrying the banner and moving the diversity and inclusion process forward within the organization.

We know that the success you achieve in your companies comes at the expense of many challenges; but because of the passion that you have for this work, you never quit; you work through the challenges. So to recognize your passion, commitment and contributions we will present a Diversity Council Honors Award to the Top 25 Diversity Councils in the US at the 2010 Linkage Summit on Leading Diversity.

Some things you should know:

  • We use the term council as a general term, because groups that lead the diversity process in organizations have a variety of names
  • The award is applicable to councils based in the United States
  • Not Executive Steering Committees, but those operational councils that execute achievement of goals that may come from a Steering Committee or Executive Council
  • The award may go to the Company Council; or to a specific council within a company that represents a specific business line or business
  • All submissions need to be received by 5:00 PM EST on December 17, 2009.
  • We will be working with an esteemed group of diversity leaders to evaluate application information
  • Membership with the Association of Diversity Councils is NOT a requirement. There is no charge to submit your council.

Be sure to return in the Fall of 2010 to submit your council group for the 2011 Diversity Council Honors Award.
